LS ELECTRIC Launches Bastrop Campus to Accelerate U.S. Market Expansion

In a significant move aimed at deepening its foothold in the North American energy market, LS ELECTRIC has officially completed its Bastrop Campus in Texas, USA. This strategic facility will serve as a key production, research, and development base designed to support LS ELECTRIC's rapid expansion across the United States.

A New Power Hub in Texas

The completion ceremony, held on the 14th (local time) in Bastrop, Texas, was attended by over 200 stakeholders, including LS ELECTRIC Chairman Koo Ja-kyun, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Bastrop Mayor John Kirkland, and other officials from state and local industries.

The Bastrop Campus, built on a 46,000㎡ site with a 3,300㎡ building area, is designed to manufacture medium- and low-voltage power equipment and switchgear systems. It will support critical infrastructure projects, including large-scale U.S. data centers operated by global Big Tech companies.

Driving Localization and Supply Chain Resilience

LS ELECTRIC's Bastrop Campus plays a vital role in the company’s localization strategy, aimed at mitigating risks posed by tariffs and trade barriers. Chairman Koo affirmed, “We will invest an additional $240 million by 2030 to expand production capabilities, hire local talent, and turn the campus into a central North American hub for power solutions.”

The facility will work in synergy with LS ELECTRIC's existing U.S. subsidiary, MCM Engineering II in Utah, forming a dual hub strategy to deliver fast, reliable, and localized solutions to customers across the region.

Competing Globally, Thriving Locally

LS ELECTRIC recorded approximately 1.3 trillion KRW in North American revenue last year, reflecting its rising influence in the region. The recent 160 billion KRW contract with a U.S. Big Tech company for power systems further underscores the trust and demand LS ELECTRIC is garnering.

Chairman Koo emphasized the company's ambition to reach 70% overseas sales share and position itself as a Top 4 power solutions provider in the U.S., joining the ranks of Schneider Electric, Siemens, Eaton, and ABB.

Conclusion

With the Bastrop Campus now operational, LS ELECTRIC is not only enhancing its capacity for innovative, localized solutions but is also building a stronger foundation for resilient supply chains and customer value delivery across North America.

As power infrastructure demands grow across data centers, smart grids, and industrial facilities, LS ELECTRIC's commitment to local production, research, and talent development positions it as a critical player in shaping the future of energy in the U.S.
